Charlotte Mason suggested to learn 2-6 words a day, our goal will be to learn 6 a day but we will slowly get there. So I recommend you start with 2-3 and go through this unit in 2 weeks (adjust it to 1 week if you've had some exposure to Spanish so that it doesn't feel too slow).

This Unit includes:

-A Nature walk activity with a printable. Some of you don’t go on a Nature walk everyday, but if you’re going to use it at home, just tell your child you will pretend there’s a tree in the living room. You can put the poster in your nature journal so that you don’t forget to bring it with you.

-A poem on a bookmark. You can keep it in your poetry book, and after you read an English poem you can pull it out, scan it, and listen to some Spanish poetry, and learn key words. You can read the translation of the poem first so that your child knows what it will be about.

-A read-aloud. You will receive the link to listen to the book, I recommend to check out or buy the book to follow along. The first units won’t go deep into studying the book vocabulary but they will just expose your child to how Spanish sounds. Play it as much as possible each day. You can cut the QR code and paste it to the back of the book for easy access.

-A Spanish Challenge picture and QR. Listen to the sentence and repeat it, then replace the English sentence with it and use it everyday. You can have a contest of “Whoever uses this sentence the most gets to choose the next____”. Just make sure you tell them they have to use it in the proper context, and not just come to you every 5 min to say it and win.

-A song. It has always been so hard for me to find traditional Spanish children's songs that are pleasant for adults to hear over and over, so I contacted a couple of talented friends and asked them to record children's music for my curriculum, and oh, I am really loving what they’re doing. Listen to the song every day if possible. Listen to as much Spanish music as possible, dance to it, play it while you're cooking, or when your child seems to need a break. You will get a card and instructions to learn the song too with audio and images.

-A Gouin Series with instructions. I wrote some about the Gouin Series on the about the method section on this website, but it basically is a series of sentences describing an action. This will help your child to think in Spanish, and not translate everything in his mind. If you speak Spanish, try to do this with other activities throughout the day.
